The Quest for Immortality! was a day-long mystery bus tour, part of Going Places (Doing Stuff) Part II: Best Summer Ever Edition, in which participants were told only where and when to meet, what to bring, and when they’d be back.
Willing adventurers:
- witnessed the Self-Transcendence 3100, the longest footrace in the world
- met Ashrita Furman, the person who holds the most world records
- set their own world records
- dined at Annam Brahma, a restaurant dedicated to the late guru Sri Chinmoy
- marveled at the Crete Wonder Garden, a model of its creator’s home island
- scaled a pair of abandoned liquid natural gas towers
- strolled among a beach full of rock cairns, then met their creator
- swam in the ocean as the sun set
- left behind a time capsule of the day’s adventures
