![]() In January 2002, Improv Everywhere pulled a prank on the NYC subway known as No Pants in which seven men who all happened to have forgotten to wear their pants entered a train car one at a time, followed by a man who just happened to be selling pants for $1 a piece. The prank became an annual event, growing every year from 50 participants in 2005, to 150 participants in 2006, to 300 participants in 2007. In 2008, the No Pants! Subway Ride was slated to be a global phenomenon as well, with satellite rides planned in nine additional cities. In light of the enormous amount of publicity the 2008 No Pants! Subway Ride was receiving, Jen Small assembled a crack team of dedicated pranksters to prank the prank. After a heated brainstorming session, the group decided to take an evangelical bent: a preacher character would follow the pantsless, preaching about the joys of accepting pants while the rest of the group donned "I Heart Pants" shirts and handed out stickers and pamphlets.
