A Magic Spigot is a faucet-like device that
pours out the contents of whatever it is attached to.
It is imaginary, obviously.
This stencil by
Posterchild began an e-mail dialogue leading up
to Nuit Blanche 2007, in which we brainstormed how a Magic Spigot would interact with common
urban objects and decided how to construct and install replicas of the imaginary phenomenon.
Five replicas were installed in (unofficial) conjunction with Nuit Blanche
in Toronto, and a week later, two more were installed in New York City.
Unfortunately, few remained up for long, but their brief existence was duly documented.
